African Underground Mining Services (AUMS) is currently seeking a suitably experienced Diamond Drill Supervisor/Trainer for our operations based throughout West Africa.Reporting to the Diamond Drill Foreman, you will be responsible for day-to-day management of Diamond Drill personnel and equipment usage at an underground mine site and to ensure compliance with relevant statutory requirements, ensuring all personnel are trained and competent to perform their duties safely and productively at all times. This includes the correct use of safety devices and protective equipment, prompt reporting of any hazardous situations, which they cannot themselves correct, making the necessary changes to eliminate or control the hazard and reporting immediately any accident or injury which arises in the course of their work.Compliance with all company policies and procedures that are displayed and amended from time to time.Take reasonable care for their own safety and that of other persons who may be affected by their acts.Perform pre-start checks and SWICs and ensure personnel under their supervision are performing pre-starts checks and SWICs.To receive and follow directives from the client & direct reports, communicating drill plans, as per client’s instruction, to drill crews and ensuring clean drill core samples marked to client’s requirements are delivered. Furthermore, carrying out inspections on drill rigs on a weekly basis noting any improvements that can be made to improve safety and productivity.Carries out crew training, (theory and practical assessments as required) to all workers on shift and reviews each employee’s development, mentoring and motivating employees as appropriate.Manage breakdowns and setup of drill rigs.Skills, Experience & Attributes:Demonstrated capacity in managing underground diamond drill contracts with productivities in line of 1250meters per month per rig.Underground diamond drilling experience operating LM75, LM90 and mobile carrier mounted diamond drill rigs.Understanding and knowledge of ore body definition, grade control, deep hole and directional drilling.Understanding of both equipment and human resource capability and productivities.Understanding of mine and drill plans and accurate reporting of physicals.Ability to communicate and liaise with employees, client representatives & site manager.Ability to organise and establish priorities, following up on outstanding tasks and closing out any completed works/task where necessary.Proven ability training diamond drill personnel across multiple countries and cultures.Patience and perseverance.International or Ghanaian Drivers’ License.Minimum Requirements:Must have at least 10 years’ underground diamond drilling operations experience.Cert I, II, III and IV in Drill Operations.Recognised Leadership Qualification.Rigger and Dogman ticket.In line with AUMS's values and ‘can do' attitude, your proactive attitude to safety and your driven work ethic will see you as a much valued employee.    You will be rewarded with a highly competitive remuneration package, and work a roster of 8 weeks on, 4 weeks off completing our vision of work life balance within a strong team environment.A full pre-employment medical will be required, including a drug and alcohol screen, relevant vaccinations and site specific clearances. Diamond Drill Trainer
