We look forward to receiving your application for the following position.Barminco Ltd is currently seeking suitably experienced U/G Jumbo & Longhole Operators for our various sites in regional Western Australia.These are permanent opportunities, offering fly in / out of Perth, on the following rosters: 7/7 & 2/1.JUMBO OPERATORDuties and Responsibilities:Accurately drill a number of drive drill patterns using a mechanised electric/Hydraulic Jumbo drill suitable to ground conditions and in compliance with site specific drill patterns and survey instruction.Assess ground conditions at the face and implement ground control according to site requirements.Read and accurately follow mining instruction plan with skill and precision ensuring holes are drilled to design line, gradient and profile.Communicate with surveyors, geologists and engineers as required.Optimise drill patterns to ensure maximum advance per round is achieved whilst maintaining strict adherence to design specifications.Ensure work area is safe for personnel and equipment to perform working duties including ensuring electrical installations and services are clear of the drilling area. Minimum Requirements:Current Australian Drivers License.Previous experience working as a Jumbo OperatorKnowledge of Underground Mining Practices and the efficient operations of an Underground Jumbo.Ability to work autonomously/independently with limited supervision;Demonstrated abilities to work within a team environment;Previous experience working within the mining industry;A strong focus toward safety and hazard identification.LONGHOLE OPERATORDuties and Responsibilities:Accurately drill a series of Long holes to a design pattern using a mechanised drill.Read and accurately follow mine instruction plans with skill and precision ensuring holes are drilled to design line, gradient and profile.Communicate with surveyors, geologists and engineers to optimise drill patterns and metres.Set up and troubleshoot on Longhole Drill rigs, specifically on the Sandvik rigs.Comply with relevant Mines Safety and Inspection Act and RegulationsMust carry out standard work place inspection practices and procedures and prepare the areas for drilling, charging or scraping in accordance with mine safety procedures.Minimum Requirements:‘C’ Class Drivers Licence.Previous experience working as a Longhole DrillerMinimum of 5 years’ experience in the Underground Mining Industry.Knowledge of Underground Mining Practices and the efficient operation of an Underground Longhole Machine.Ability to work autonomously/independently with limited supervision;Demonstrated abilities to work within a team environment;Commitment to safety.Your proactive attitude to safety and highly driven work ethic will see you as a much-valued employee, who aligns with Barminco's values and ‘can do' attitude.
