Reporting to the Mine Foreman and with strong functional relationships to the site Safety and Operations Team, these key leadership opportunities will work a family-friendly 7/7 roster.Responsible for partnering with Project Managers to influence and engage with Barminco’s site based personnel, you will provide expert input, advice and analysis on leadership, safety and overall performance across your team. You will identify improvement initiatives and champion ongoing development of Barminco’s strong safety culture and high-performance objectives.Duties and Responsibilities:Ensure mining operations are conducted in a safe manner and any safety issues are promptly reported to the Underground Foreman and Site Project ManagerEnsure ore is mined efficiently to the satisfaction of geology personnel and ensuring targets are metPerform the daily supervision of the working areas of the mine in accordance with all relevant Acts and RegulationsConduct daily work planning meetings / toolbox meetingsSubmit incident reports in writing to the Mine Foreman/Site Project Manager for incidents that occur on shift as soon as possible but no later than 24 hours after the incidentLiaise with any Contractors on site, ensuring their work is coordinated with the other mining activitiesUphold Company policy on discipline and counsel personnel accordingly. (In conjunction with the Mine Foreman/Site Project Manager).Skills, Experience & Attributes:Extensive experience in a Supervisor role in underground mining is essentialPossess a current WA Underground Shift Supervisor CertificateExperience working in an expert advisory capacity and ability to successfully influence and support operational site based teamsStrong credibility in working with and influencing a front line operational workforceConfidence and capability in collating, reporting and presenting performance data including written and verbal presentations and interfacing with clientsDemonstrated capability in a progressive leadership role – moving beyond a compliance focus to leadership, effective safety systems and personal behavioursAbility to act as a key focal point / subject matter expertStrong understanding and capability in safety culture and leadership concepts and practical application of risk assessment; hazard identification and controls; and incident management and investigationWorking knowledge of relevant legislation, particularly Mines Safety & Inspection Act 1994 and Mines Safety Inspection Regulations 1995Proficient in the MS Office suiteYour proactive attitude to safety, diligent approach and strong work ethic, will see you become a highly valued member of the Barminco Operations Team, where you will work alongside experienced industry professionals in a safe, dynamic and outcome focused environment.Should you possess the required skills, experience and ambition to be an asset to our team, we welcome your interest and look forward to receiving your application.   • Ensure mining operations are conducted in a safe manner and any safety issues are promptly reported to the Underground Foreman and Site Project Manager
  • Ensure ore is mined efficiently to the satisfaction of geology personnel and ensuring targets are met
  • Perform the daily supervision of the working areas of the mine in accordance with all relevant Acts and Regulations
  • Conduct daily work planning meetings / toolbox meetings
  • Submit incident reports in writing to the Mine Foreman/Site Project Manager for incidents that occur on shift as soon as possible but no later than 24 hours after the incident
  • Liaise with any Contractors on site, ensuring their work is coordinated with the other mining activities
  • Uphold Company policy on discipline and counsel personnel accordingly. (In conjunction with the Mine Foreman/Site Project Manager).

Skills, Experience & Attributes:

  • Extensive experience in a Supervisor role in underground mining is essential
  • Possess a current WA Underground Shift Supervisor Certificate
  • Experience working in an expert advisory capacity and ability to successfully influence and support operational site based teams
  • Strong credibility in working with and influencing a front line operational workforce
  • Confidence and capability in collating, reporting and presenting performance data including written and verbal presentations and interfacing with clients
  • Demonstrated capability in a progressive leadership role – moving beyond a compliance focus to leadership, effective safety systems and personal behaviours
  • Ability to act as a key focal point / subject matter expert
  • Strong understanding and capability in safety culture and leadership concepts and practical application of risk assessment; hazard identification and controls; and incident management and investigation
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation, particularly Mines Safety & Inspection Act 1994 and Mines Safety Inspection Regulations 1995
  • Proficient in the MS Office suite
