Our vision is to be the world’s leading hard rock underground mining services provider.The collective capability of our people is critical to our success and we are looking for talented people who share our values and are as committed to creating value for our clients as we are.The Opportunity:We seek someone who is motivated to make a difference, develop our people and support our business growth and who has previous experience in simulator & virtual reality training to join our team in the newly created role of Training Coordinator – Simulator & VR Training.  The new role will join our established team in developing and delivering operator training to prepare new starters for site and partner with site operations teams to improve operator capability, safety and productivity outcomes.Reporting to the Group Manager Health, Safety & Training and based at our head office in Hazelmere, you will demonstrate operational experience in a mine production environment; a background in training frameworks/delivery and LMS; strong focus on safety, quality and productivity; a collaborative style; and, a genuine concern to coach, develop and improve the capability of others.  You are highly organised and detail focussed with experience in simulator and virtual reality (preferred) training.Duties and Responsibilities:Develop UG 360 Underground Mining Training Simulator utilisation plan.Develop and implement training plans for new truck and loader operators to achieve required competencies and operating standards.Provide dedicated training and mentoring for both new and existing operators to achieve required competencies and skill levels.Facilitate post-employment skills profiling and skills optimisation plans for truck and loader operators.Analyse machine health and performance data; identify and address variability in operator capability and performance to reduce damage; improve/optimise machine reliability (events) & performance/productivity.Schedule and deliver training plans for existing operators where a need for further training is identified.Coordinate simulator utilisation and transport logistics for Hazelmere and remote site training as required.Coordinate and implement VR (virtual reality) training; achieve task-specific underground workplace familiarisationDevelop and retain documentary records for individual training and performance/competency achievement.Ensure complete capture of training data in INX training records and completion of LMS requirements.Develop and report key metrics for simulator usage, competency achievement, benchmark improvement, machine performance data trends, emerging issues/priorities and recommendations.Liaise with key stakeholders as required (site leaders, executive/senior leaders, simulator vendor staff – service & training technicians, HR/Safety teams, external RTO’s and agencies).Act as the Barminco “owner” and focal point for the UG360 Underground Mining Simulator and training facility.Assist and advise in the development and improvement of training management systems and processes.Skills, Experience & Attributes:Have experience in a similar position within the mining industryHold a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment with operational and leadership experienceThe ability to work autonomously and to champion our training effort to deliver improved consistency & operational capability across all our sitesPossess strong computer skills, with exposure to the Microsoft Office Suite, SAP and INXExcellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated capability for effective collaboration with a wide range of stakeholdersIf you have the necessary skills, drive and experience to be an asset to Barminco’s Safety Team, we welcome your interest and encourage you to apply.
