Barminco Ltd is currently seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably experienced Jumbo Operators for numerous sites across Australia.Reporting to the Shift Supervisor you will be required to carry out underground development and production work, stripping, ground support and other mining tasks.Positions are FIFO – roster may differ depending on site.Duties and Responsibilities:Accurately drill a number of drive drill patterns using a mechanised electric/hydraulic Jumbo drill suitable to ground conditions and in compliance with site specific drill patterns and survey instruction;Assess ground conditions at the face and implement ground control according to site requirements;Read and accurately follow mining instruction plan with skill and precision ensuring holes are drilled to design line, gradient and profile;Communicate with surveyors, geologists and engineers as required;Optimise drill patterns to ensure maximum advance per round is achieved whilst maintaining strict adherence to design specifications;Ensure work area is safe for personnel and equipment to perform working duties including ensuring electrical installations and services are clear of the drilling area.Minimum Requirements:Valid Australian Driver’s Licence;Working at Heights Certificate;An acceptable National Police Clearance;Previous experience working as a Jumbo Operator;Knowledge of Underground Mining Practices and the efficient operations of an Underground Jumbo;Ability to work autonomously/independently with limited supervision;Demonstrated abilities to work within a team environment;Previous experience working within the mining industry;A strong focus toward safety and hazard identification.Your proactive attitude to safety and driven work ethic will see you as a much valued employee in line with Barminco's values and ‘can do' attitude, and will be rewarded with a highly competitive remuneration package completing our vision of a work life balance in a strong team environment.A full pre-employment medical is required as part of our on-boarding process which includes drug and alcohol testing as well as passing site specific clearances.
