Jumbo Operators

Key Responsibilities:

  • Have a positive outlook to training the national workforce to Barminco safe operating standards
  • Accurately mark-up and drill a number of drive drill patterns using a mechanised hydraulic or electric Jumbo drill to suit conditions of the drive
  • Accurately record all required information including heading QA/QC sheets, prestarts and all required plod information
  • Assess ground conditions at the face and implement ground control according to site requirements
  • Read and accurately follow mine instruction plan with skill and precision ensuring holes are drilled to design line, gradient and profile
  • Communicate with surveyors, geologists, and engineers to optimise drill patterns and metres
  • Assure working area is safe for personnel and equipment to perform working duties including ensuring electrical installations and services are clear of the drilling area
  • Lead the underground team with a positive can do attitude

Skills, Experience & Attributes:

  • Solid history in underground mining
  • Experience with Sandvik Twin boom powerclass Jumbo’s
