We believe in investing in the development of our people and back them with state of the art equipment and world’s best practice.Due to expansion in our African Operations, we are actively seeking Expressions of Interest for highly experienced Underground Mine Foreman and Shift Supervisors.The roster on offer is 8 weeks on and 4 weeks off.Duties and Responsibilities:Plans and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in underground mining activities.Reviews data, such as schedules, plans, survey reports, and geological records, and consults with engineering, maintenance, and supervisory personnel to plan and direct mine development.Adheres to mining laws and safety regulations, and issues directives to workers to ensure adherence to applicable rules and regulations.Reviews and consolidates records, such as, safety reports, and production records.Supervision of Underground personnel providing direction and assistance with planning of mining activities in accordance with the Mines Act & relevant Safety and Environmental regulations.Mine according to planMentor and train national supervisors and identify future leaders from nationalEnsure correct reporting and recordingFollow up on instructions given to ensure tasks are completed as reportedAbility and willingness to string and charge drop raises as requiredTraining of National Supervisors and workforce to a high standardEssential Requirements:WA Shift Supervisor certification or equivalentA minimum of 5 years exposure to the Underground Mining Industry is required for this position.Production and Development background with operator experienceAbility to coordinate activities and schedule labour.Ability to assess mining working conditions and environment.Ability to recognise potential mining hazards and risks.Ability to communicate verbally.Your proactive attitude to safety and driven work ethic will see you as a much valued employee in line with AUMS’s values and ‘can do’ attitude, and will be rewarded with a highly competitive remuneration package completing our vision of a work life balance in a strong team environment.A full pre-employment medical is required, including a drug and alcohol, and site specific clearances. A National Police Clearance and any necessary tickets or qualifications are required to be presented at time of interview.
